Trout fishing in the Laurentians
The Laurentians hold a dense network of rivers, creeks and cold lakes with brook trout, brown trout, lake trout and landlocked salmon. Most of the water we fish sits about 1 h 30 to 1 h 50 from Montreal without traffic.
What the region really offers
The Laurentian relief creates countless small forest streams fed by cold springs — exactly the habitat that still holds native brook trout less than two hours from a major city.
The bigger lakes in the region hold lake trout and, in certain spots, landlocked salmon.
How we choose the sector
Flow, water temperature, recent rain, fishing pressure, season, and the results of our own latest trips. We do not pick a river at random in the morning — we head toward water that has been producing.
